So, when the guidebooks say that you should book your camping site months ahead of time for the busy summer months....they're not kidding. I made my reservations for the Grand Canyon and Moab, but I'm still trying for Zion and Bryce Canyon. They were booked up already!!! Both places have two campgrounds each. One is a reservation-based site and the other is first come, first served. There are other campgrounds outside the parks, but that's not ideal for a lot of reasons. I'll arrive at both parks early in the morning, so hopefully I can get a place in the first come, first served campgrounds. Cross your fingers for me!
I think I will stay in a hotel in both Vegas and Durango, so I'm looking around for good deals.
