As many of you know, I was laid off from my job of over 6 years in January, due to the worsening economic climate. I've been freelancing with my old company for the last 10 months, with a few other outside projects thrown in. It's been a very interesting experience for me. I've loved the time off and flexibility. I've loved making the moolah. And I've loved being able to take a step back from my life and assess. But I don't like the constant low level worrying about the next job, the next payment, if the work's gonna keep flowing.
So I've been looking for a full time job, almost ever since January, but I was lucky enough to have freelance as a cushion that would allow me to be choosy...not just jump at the first paycheck. I had quite a few interviews...even 4 paid trips to places as disparate as Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Minneapolis and Raleigh, NC. I had a little local interest too. But I was finally offered a job that I feel will help my career, be a great place to work and keep me learning and growing. It's in Minneapolis...um, yes.
So the great White Northern Adventure begins. I'm cranking back up the travel blog to update everyone on my progress northward over the next month, then as a new girl in town--where I'm sure hijinks will ensue. So follow me, Dear Reader, but don't be ashamed to close your eyes at the scary parts:)

A) I'm super excited for your great northern adventure. Who knows what awaits. Certainly a paying gig which is never bad. So when do you leave the south? I feel a going away get-together in my bones....
